FoodShare Logo Animation

PROJECT OVERVIEW & GOALS:

The main objective of this creative motion design project was to use my imagination to animate any form of interpretation that would bring life and character to the brand FoodShare's company logo.

TECHNOLOGY USED:

An image of the Adobe Illustrator logo with the letters, "A" and "i" in orange.
An image of the Adobe Photoshop logo with the letters, 'P' and 's' in blue.
An image of the Adobe After Effects logo with the letters, 'A' and 'e' in violet.
An image of the Adobe Premiere Pro logo with the letters, 'P' and 'r' in violet.

OVERALL CREATIVE PROCESS:

With a focus on applying masking techniques and the basic principles of animation such as 'squash & stretch', the end goal was to strongly learn Adobe After Effects while bringing a simple font style into a new level of engagement. While beginning with style tiles that focused on a monochromatic palette, the eagerness to accomplish the visual storyboards followed soon after making sure to highlight specific objects of interest as well as movements in the colour red. After completing the hand drawn sketches, I moved on to creating the digital layers (assets) that would be needed for the animation (i.e. apple). I then imported those assets into After Effects to create the overall compositions.

FINAL SOLUTION:

As a result of strong creative planning as well as researching various animation techniques with After Effects, I was able to produce a smooth 8 second motion logo design that brought life to this company's brand while entertaining the viewer.

PERSONAL REFLECTION:

I was pretty proud of myself after my overall critique of the completed animation. I really pushed my abilities, while implementing multiple layers of animated action with a limiting palette. The one thing that really stuck with me was how one really has to work backwards a lot of the time when working with the Adobe After Effects software for any motion project.
